Ready for an epic clash?

Riyadh Season is back again with another amazing mega event. This time, an MMA Super Fight: the Champs vs. Champs fight is happening as soon as this weekend.

The Professional Fighters League (PFL) champions and the Bellator champions will go head-to-head on Saturday February 24 from 8.30pm in the Saudi capital to find out who’s the ultimate champion. Tickets are now on sale starting from SAR70. Not too shabby.

The new championship was confirmed by chairman of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA), Turki Alalshikh on Tuesday January 16, just a day after the Knockout Chaos boxing event was announced.

Here’s everything you need to know.

MMA Super Fight time

The mega event will be taking place on Saturday February 24, starting 8.30pm (12.30pm ET) with preliminary matches and 11pm (3pm ET) with the main events.

The weigh-ins prior to the matches will take place at 6pm, with gates to the event opening at 6.30pm.

The preliminary card will feature three major showcase bouts of featherweight and debut fighters while the main card will showcase seven match-ups between current and former champions, as well as title challengers from PFL and Bellator.

MMA Super Fight location

The ultimate championship will take place at the iconic Kingdom Arena, where other super events like the Ring of Fire boxing match will be taking place as well.

A PFL ‘SmartCage’ will be set up, an important stage for the MMA as it records and broadcasts fighter metrics like punch speed, power ratings, heart-rate tracking, and energy exerted.

MMA Super Fight details

To simplify the whole thing, the event is basically PFL champions going against Bellator champions to see who the ultimate champion is in each weight category.

This happens right after the PFL acquired Bellator, creating a new global MMA powerhouse and a new era in this fighting field.

The inaugural event, which will feature champion showdowns, is scheduled for three, five-minute rounds. The PFL and Bellator titles won’t be on the line in the matches, as the winner takes home newly designed Super Fight Championship belts.

Elbows (part of the ground-and-pound fighting technique) will also be available this time around, which normally weren’t permitted in MMA.

The MMA Super Fight will also feature the first-ever female MMA fight in Riyadh in which two-time Olympic Gold Medalist and women’s boxing champion Claressa Shields will take on Kelsey DeSantis in a Women’s Lightweight bout.

MMA Super Fight tickets

Tickets have just been released for the MMA Super Fight, starting from SAR70 for category 2 seating, with the highest price being for the VVIP seating at SAR600.
