Fasten your seatbelts, the Red Sea International Airport (RSI) is almost ready.
The world-class aviation has completed 80 percent of construction with the main terminal’s concrete and steel structures in place. Vital mechanical systems have also been fully installed according to the airport’s official X account.
Our airport is now 80% complete, marking a significant milestone on our journey to creating a world-class aviation hub.

Located in Tabuk, the travel hub is expected to welcome one million passengers annually by 2030. What’s more, the travel hub has already started running flights from Riyadh and Jeddah.
Staying true to the restoration project’s ambition, the airport will boast big sustainable credentials by running entirely on renewable energy.

Location in western Saudi Arabia, the Red Sea is one of the most ambitious regenerative tourism locations in the world. It is part of the Saudi Vision 2030 drive and puts sustainability and luxury at the forefront of every experience it curates. Home to three major projects, The Red Sea, AMAALA and Thuwal, the area is serviced by the near-complete Red Sea International airport as well as a second private airport.
The airport has a curved structure with five centrally arranged pods for arrivals and departures. The designs reflect the natural surroundings of the desert terrain.
Another major difference is the airport plans on not having a baggage claim. Instead, luggage will be delivered directly to guests’ hotel rooms. Imagine that.

Additionally, Red Sea International Airport has updated the current Saturday flights to and from the capital every Saturday. Arrivals will land at 2.45pm and departures will leave 3.35pm, while a new third flight from the capital will arrive on Sundays at 8.30am and departing flights will be at 9.25pm.

If you were wondering if RSI is the only airport in the area, you’ll be happy (and surprised) to know that Al Wajh Airport (EJH) is an older airport that is part of the ongoing developments to modernise the existing structure with the aim of bringing it up to international standards while also upgrading the existing terminal, building a new terminal and revamping the current designs.
Once achieved, EJH will offer more direct flights and will become the new base of operations for Fly Red Sea – Saudi’s first seaplane company.
